The Fall Guys

The movie opens with stuntman Colt Seavers discussing the significance of stunt performers in film history. Colt performs an action scene, showcasing his dedication and love for his craft, despite the physical toll it takes on him.

During a stunt for Tom Ryder, Colt hits the ground hard and injures his back. This accident leads him to leave the stunt business and distance himself from Jody Moreno, the camera operator he loves.

Eighteen months later, Colt works as a valet driver and has a strained relationship with Jody, who has moved on after the accident. Colt is publicly called 'the fall guy' by a former coworker, fueling his feelings of failure.

Colt is approached by Gail Meyer, a producer, who offers him a chance to be Tom Ryder's stunt double on a new sci-fi film called 'Metalstorm.' Gail reveals that Jody is directing the film, and Colt initially refuses.

Colt arrives on set and reunites with friend Dan Tucker, the stunt coordinator. Colt is nervous about performing a major stunt, the cannon roll, in front of Jody, who is displeased to see him back at work.

Colt performs a series of stunts, including a fire stunt. Jody and Colt engage in subtle dissection of their relationship amidst the filming, revealing lingering feelings and tension.

Gail informs Colt that Tom Ryder has gone missing after associating with shady people. She tasks Colt with finding Ryder within 48 hours to save the film production, leading him into a complex investigation.

Colt investigates Ryder’s whereabouts and confronts his drug dealer Doone at a nightclub. After being drugged, Colt fights off henchmen and captures Doone, who directs him to a hotel and a contact named Kevin.

At Ryder’s hotel, Colt encounters Jody and uncovers Ryder’s body, revealing that another stuntman, Henry Herrera, was killed. Colt is advised by Gail to avoid police, complicating the investigation.

Colt replaces Ryder with a deepfake for the movie, but tensions rise as Jody and Colt’s past come to the surface. They plan to get Ryder to confess by staging a live car jump stunt during filming.

During the climactic scene, Colt tricks Ryder into admitting to the murder on mic, leading to a chaotic chase involving a car jump. Ryder is knocked out after the jump, ensuring Colt’s victory.

Ryder and Gail are exposed for their crimes as Colt’s team recovers the confession tape. Ryder’s chopper crashes, and police arrive to arrest Ryder and Gail for their illegal activities.

Colt, presumed dead, secretly returns to the set disguised as an alien. Jody reunites with him, and they collaborate on framing Ryder to ensure justice. Ryder’s final act is a failed rescue attempt during his arrest.

‘Metalstorm’ premieres successfully with Jason Momoa replacing Ryder. The film becomes a hit, and Alma earns her producer credit. The movie ends with the police arresting Ryder and Gail following their international criminal activities.
