The Crew

Four retired mobsters convene in their South Beach apartment building lobby to plot a scheme. They decide to stage a murder inside the building and steal a corpse from the mortuary to present as the victim. The goal is to make the complex undesirable to new tenants and secure cheaper rents for themselves.

After their plan gets underway, they discover the body is Luis Ventanna, the senile father of Raoul Ventanna, head of a Colombian drug-smuggling ring. The realization reshapes the stakes and dangers of their scheme. The rental windfall suddenly feels like a dangerous liability.

Bobby funds a private detective to find his daughter Olivia, whom he hasn’t seen since she was a child, while the others spend their windfall recklessly. Mouth starts visiting a strip club and grows closer to Ferris, a young dancer. Mouth's confession about staging the murder begins to ripple through the group.

Mouth tells Ferris about the plan to fake a murder, and Ferris asks them to kill her stepmother Pepper in exchange for silence. They agree to the arrangement, setting Pepper as the next target. The group begins to orchestrate Pepper’s disappearance as part of their broader ruse.

Pepper is kidnapped as the group moves to silence her, hoping to fake her death by burning down her mansion. In a turn of events, they end up burning the mansion next door instead, which belongs to Ventanna. The plan spirals into a larger criminal crisis with real consequences.

Raoul Ventanna posts a $100,000 reward for the head of the man behind the plot. The confrontation erupts at the apartment complex, leading to the capture of Mouth, Ferris, Pepper, and Detectives Neal and Menteer, who have been investigating the original murder hoax. The remaining wiseguys manage to slip away.

With the others on the run, the group traces the kidnappers to the docks where the prisoners are being held. Tension rises as a tense pursuit unfolds along the waterfront. The scene shifts from the building to a claustrophobic, industrial setting.

Brick rallies the remaining former associates to lay siege to the ship where the captives are held. The wiseguys engage Ventanna’s henchmen in a brutal rescue operation. The confrontation is chaotic and loud, underscoring the gang’s willingness to fight for their own.

During the rescue, Detective Menteer is revealed to be on Ventanna’s payroll, changing loyalties in the middle of the confrontation. Bobby recognizes Detective Neal as his now-grown daughter, adding a personal dimension to the chaos. The revelations shift who is ally and who is enemy in the moment.

The wiseguys succeed in turning the ship, the drug smugglers, and the dirty cop over to the police, along with a shipment of drugs. The operation ends with the criminals in custody and the criminal enterprise weakened. The dramatic capture consolidates the group's control over their own fate.

The four friends seize a truckload of Cuban cigars and use them as leverage to reshape their living situation. They convert their apartment complex into a retirement home for old, down-on-their-luck wiseguys. The plan offers a new kind of security and camaraderie for the aging criminals.
