Falsely accused by envious rivals, Edmond Dantès is condemned to the forbidding Château d’If. There he befriends the enigmatic Abbé Faria, who reveals the location of a hidden island treasure known only to him. After the Abbé’s death, Dantès escapes disguised as a corpse, secures the riches, and prepares to exact vengeance on those who betrayed him.
