The Bounty Hunter

Jim Kipp is a famed bounty hunter willing to do anything for the right price. He arrives in Twin Forks under an alias to track three fugitives who stole $100,000, keeping his true purpose concealed. His cool, calculating manner hides a growing connection with Julie and a readiness to adapt his plan for the town. By the end, he settles in Twin Forks and becomes the town's sheriff.

Julie is Dr. Spencer's intelligent and brave daughter, curious about Kipp but wary of his methods. She becomes involved as Kipp pursues the robbers while caring for her father. She witnesses Danvers' malice and acts as a moral anchor amid growing tension. Her bond with Kipp signals a new life in Twin Forks.

Dr. Spencer is a cautious physician who treats the wounded and guards information. He senses danger in Kipp's arrival and urges discretion while trying to protect his patients. His wariness of Williams' circle makes him a target when secrets threaten the town. He embodies the tension between knowledge, suspicion, and survival.

Alice Williams is George Williams' wife, outwardly charming as she flirts to draw information. She is revealed as the third robber and kills Sheriff Brand in a moment of ruthless resolve. Her quick, calculating nature pushes the town toward chaos and exposes the violence beneath polite society. In the finale she confronts Julie and is thwarted by Kipp.

Eli Danvers is the postmaster and a schemer who tries to bribe Kipp to leave town. He secretly colludes with the robbers and flees when his plot unravels. His attempt to silence the doctor fails, and he is found dead in the hills after a confrontation, leaving behind an empty money box.

Bill Rachin is a limping hotel worker whose appearance marks him as suspicious. He is identified as part of the trio and drawn into the conspiracy surrounding the $100,000 robbery. His ambiguous loyalties pull him deeper into the scheme until the truth closes in.

George Williams is a card dealer linked to the robbers and a source of tension for Dr. Spencer. He pushes for secrecy and attempts to control what others know about the robbery. His information is cut short when Sheriff Brand shoots him just as he is about to reveal more.

Vance Edwards identifies Kipp and misreads his intentions, believing Kipp is pursuing him for past crimes. He is one of the robbers and, despite the danger, later rescues Kipp, grateful that the bounty hunter is not chasing him. His presence underscores how fear and self-preservation drive frontier loyalties.

Sheriff Brand is the town's lawman who turns out to be one of the robbers. He plans to use the staged crime to remove the bounty hunter. He is killed when Alice Williams turns on him in the final confrontation, exposing the fragility of legal authority in the town.
