2600 years ago, Lehi, his wife Sariah, and their four sons—Laman, Lemuel, Sam, and Nephi—flee Jerusalem after Lehi proclaims its imminent destruction. In the wilderness they acquire the brass plates, join with Ishmael’s family, and endure hardship, including Ishmael’s death. Nephi builds a ship, leads his people across the sea, and reaches the promised land in the Americas, where Lehi dies and further family conflicts arise.
