The Apaches of Athens

Petros Labetis, known as the prince, faces a landlord who is trying to collect rent. The prince refuses to pay, signaling his stubborn, rebellious streak. This opening establishes his precarious life among Athens' poor.

Two of the prince's friends, Giorgios and Nikolas, arrive to join him. They are orphans and rebels who map out their day together. The trio's camaraderie foreshadows their adventures.

The prince walks past Titika, a beautiful florist who is also poor. Their daily interaction hints at a potential romance amid hardship. Titika becomes a focal point of his softer side.

The prince runs into a group of orphan children and is rude to them, highlighting his harsher side toward the city’s vulnerable. This contrasts with Titika's compassion later.

Giorgios, Nikolas, and the prince convene at a local Athens restaurant to plan their schemes. The setting emphasizes the urban, social dynamics of the period.

The three friends gamble on the street and stumble into a larger onslaught of orphans, sparking a rock war. The prince is injured, and Titika tends to his wounds, deepening their bond.

Athanasios Paralis, a wealthy millionaire, is introduced with his lavish estate, Tatoi Palace. His daughter Vera inherits a vast fortune, while his secretary Zinovion Kiriakon harbors a crush on Vera. The social divide is established.

Vera loses control riding a horse and falls. The prince finds her on the roadside and helps her recover, sparking Vera's growing love for him.

Zinovios reveals his desire to marry Vera, but Athanasios disapproves and insults him in front of Vera. The rejection fuels Zinovios's scheming.

Zinovios hires the prince to pretend to be a genuine prince in order to insult Vera and Athanasios and boost Zinovios's reputation. The plan is to be unveiled on Vera's birthday.

A messenger arrives with news that he has inherited a massive fortune in Canada, but the trio mistakes him for a bill collector and sends him away after taking a deposit from Zinovios. The money injection fuels their reckless schemes and a taxi ride.

The big party for Vera occurs and the prince arrives in an expensive suit, posing as a real prince to impress the guests. Giorgios and Nikolas crash the party in expensive outfits, while Titika, hired as the florist, recognizes him. Zinovios accuses him of fraud and the prince is escorted out, but he declines to leave because he loves Titika.

The messenger finally reveals the prince's massive inheritance from Canada, bringing resolution to the romance. Titika and the prince live happily ever after.
