Provincial café owner Mimis leaves his Chalkidiki village for Athens, hoping for a better future. He adopts a swaggering “antisocial” façade and, with army comrade Aristeidis, tries to launch his own business. While courting Aristeidis’s sister‑in‑law, seamstress Toula, Mimis ends up working as a waiter to make ends meet. After being fired, his strained relationship with Nitsa is tested amid wedding preparations and daily hardships.
