His crew includes Salim 'Pheku' Mast Ali and other associates like Jahangir, Gafoor, and Chaus. Each day, they exchange gossip, boast about small and large acts of bravery, and reinforce a code of honor that they believe binds them together in a precarious balance of power. When the two NRIs wander into the old city and cross paths with Ismail Bhai’s gang at a hotel, a heated spat flares up, forcing Rochak and Pranai to scramble for safety as they are escorted away by a local guide. The incident makes it clear that the old city’s politics and the newer ambitions of the NRIs are on a collision course, with Ismail Bhai and his crew plotting to reclaim dignity and authority in the only way they know how.
Meanwhile, another thread pulls at the edges of the story: Ramesh Raghu Karumanchi, Pranai’s cousin and their loyal butler, conspires with Mama, a veteran Hyderabadi underworld figure, to abduct Pranai for a ransom. The plan is set in motion under the cover of night, sending tremors through both the NRIs’ quiet confidence and the gang’s carefully guarded reputations.
Ismail Bhai remains convinced that the seemingly harmless hotel quarrel has spiraled into a serious challenge to his honor.
