En route his car breaks down, and he gives a lift to Perry, a young woman fleeing a gas‑station job. They travel together, part ways in the city, and both struggle—Eddie can’t sell his script and Perry can’t find work—until a chance encounter with veteran pickpocket Mandy brings them back together.
