The next day, Serafina’s confession—she slept with Alfred—sparks a fierce confrontation that ends with Cristina breaking free from the crowd and pursuing Umberto. The group discovers Joshua’s body, revealing that he has taken his own life. Grief turns to desperation as they mourn and debate how to honor Joshua: bury him, or face a more brutal option brought on by hunger. Pura, grappling with the moral weight of their circumstances, awkwardly suggests consuming Joshua to quell the growing hunger, a notion that sickens but ultimately forces themselves to confront survival at any cost. Nympha finally asserts herself, especially after Serafina’s insults threaten to degrade her further; Serafina relents when Nympha’s value to the group—and to her own future—is acknowledged.

Umberto brings a grim practicality to the crisis, offering to prepare Joshua’s body for sustenance as the others weep and try to cling to some sense of dignity. The island becomes a stage for a communal rite: they sing a funeral song, Habang may Buhay, as a moment of shared memory and sorrow. When a helicopter silhouette threads overhead, the group gives chase, but the rescue plane fails to spot them in the vast sea and sand.

Rescue finally comes in the form of a military arrival, and the survivors return to Manila with new perspectives. The Miss Manila Sunshine pageant resumes, and Serafina’s victory is celebrated as a reaffirmation of family, friendship, and the ties that bound them on the island.
