Antonina Milyukova, a young woman from a privileged Russian family in the 19th century, becomes fixated on marrying the renowned composer Pyotr Tchaikovsky after hearing his music. Despite his initial acceptance of their union, Tchaikovsky later blames Antonina for his personal and professional struggles, subjecting her to harsh treatment and attempts to end their marriage. Driven by her enduring feelings, she resolves to remain with him, enduring humiliation and disgrace until she is slowly driven to the brink of madness.
