Adapted from Houshang Golshiri’s short story, the film follows mysterious, chilling events in a village where superstitious residents raise a scarecrow for protection, only to become its victims. Produced at the end of the Shah’s reign, it serves as a metaphor for power dynamics, showing how societies create idols that ultimately terrorize them.
