Bahman, a director barred from filmmaking for 24 years, confronts death while filming a TV documentary on Iranian burial customs. On his wife’s anniversary a hitchhiker recounts abuse and infant loss; Bahman finds a body buried beside his wife. He turns to his attorney‑fixer, searches hospitals for a corpse, and battles disease, wondering if death is his destiny.
