Despite Tommy’s supportive words, Kimmy’s intentions to sabotage Jodi come to light early in their rehearsal process, leading to conflicts that take a toll on Jodi’s emotional well-being. As her relationship with Dunkleman faces strain, he abruptly reacts after allowing Jodi to prioritize her rehearsals over their anniversary dinner, leading to their heartbreaking parting. In her vulnerability, Jodi shares a kiss with Tommy, and the emotional landscape becomes more tangled.

While she contemplates burning the shoes Dunkleman gifted her in the first film, she decides against it at the last moment.
