Tales of Vesperia: The First Strike

Yuri was forced to kill Lambert to protect Hisca. When the Aer creature attacked Shizontonia and seized Lambert along with two wardogs, Lambert had already been severely wounded and was being dragged away. Yuri made the difficult decision to kill Lambert to prevent him from suffering further and to ensure Hisca's safety during the chaotic battle.

The Aer began mutating due to an unknown disturbance at its source. The investigation revealed that Garista, the corps' strategist, had engineered an illegal blastia project at the lake fortress. His creation was manipulating the Aer, causing it to transform and create aggressive monsters that threatened the kingdom.

Niren used Rita's device to stop the Aer flow and halt the crisis, but the sudden shutdown triggered a powerful backlash that destroyed the fortress and the protective barrier around Shizontonia. To save Chastel and give the others time to escape, Niren threw Chastel to Yuri and remained trapped in the sinkhole of gushing Aer, sacrificing himself.

Garista had secretly created a powerful blastia at the lake fortress that was intentionally manipulating the Aer. This illegal project was designed to destroy witnesses and ruin Shizontonia. The fortress blastia turned the entire structure into a living weapon and was responsible for the Aer crisis threatening the kingdom.

Flynn confronted Yuri about what he perceived as unequal task assignments during the crisis. Flynn had been sent to attend a formal gathering in Zaphias while Yuri remained in Shizontonia defending against monsters. Each accused the other of having an easier duty, revealing underlying tensions about their roles and responsibilities within the Niren Corps.

Commandant Alexei denied reinforcements because he wanted to wait until the imperial capital gathering ended. Despite the growing monster threat and Aer crisis in Shizontonia, Alexei admonished Flynn for delaying and refused to send help until after the formal gathering in Zaphias was complete.

The barrier blastia protecting Shizontonia was destroyed when Niren used Rita's device to stop the Aer flow. The sudden shutdown triggered a massive backlash that blew apart both the fortress and the surrounding protective barriers. With the barrier failed, Shizontonia had to be evacuated.

Rita Mordio created a device capable of returning the mutated Aer to its normal state. When Niren found her and obtained this device, it offered a potential solution to stabilize the Aer crisis. However, deploying it required time and cooperation, and the eventual use led to the catastrophic backlash that destroyed the barriers.

The fortress transformed into a living weapon because of Garista's illegal blastia project. Inside the fortress, the blastia was manipulating the Aer in a way that made the entire structure behave like a living organism, attacking the knights as they ventured deeper to investigate the Aer's source.

After Niren sacrificed himself in the sinkhole of gushing Aer, Yuri recovered Niren's blastia as a keepsake. Yuri kept the blastia as a memorial to Niren and departed Shizontonia with it, honoring the captain's memory.
