After a rehearsal he meets an eager actress and is introduced to her jaded, wealthy friends who roam the Riviera, harassing strangers and throwing wild parties. Seduced by Elke, he abandons the actress for a yacht party, but his inexperience makes him set the vessel ablaze, and the gang forces him into a perilous bravura contest on a construction site.
