Pursued by a small yakuza gang, a briefcase‑carrying man abandons his vehicle and boards a commuter train. Onboard he and other passengers watch three thugs assault a woman, but fear stops them from intervening. The victim reports the crime, a witness finally comes forward, and after hearing the rape on the news the man hides his identity and begins tracking the victim.
