Haven, a military intelligence officer traveling undercover, rides into town to investigate the gold shipment robbery. At Mrs. Caslon's gold mine, Haven learns that Charlie is the brains behind the operation. He is surprised to discover that Charlie herself is the glamorous singer in town, linking the crime to the performance world. This revelation makes Haven wary of Charlie's charm and influence.

Haven defeats Charlie's saloon bouncer in a tense confrontation, proving his combat prowess. Charlie then offers him a job as transport chief for the gold, testing his loyalty under pressure. Haven weighs the dangerous proposal as tensions rise.
