Stand by Me Doraemon 2

The film opens during the events of the previous movie, with Nobita facing the day before his wedding to Shizuka and his future self appearing distraught. The present Nobita is scolded by his mother for his attitude and begins to question his true identity. The sense of impending change sets the stage for the time-bending journey.

After the scolding, Nobita grows discouraged and searches for a place to hide his exam results. The weight of expectations deepens his doubt about who he is and what his future should hold. A quiet fear threads through his everyday actions.

Nobita finds an old teddy bear given by his late grandmother, and memories of her flood back. He insists on seeing her, and Doraemon agrees to take him back in time to visit. The relic becomes the spark that sets the journey into motion.

In the past, they meet younger versions of Nobita, his friends, and family. Nobita reunites tearfully with his grandmother, fulfilling her wish to see him during his primary school days. She also yearns to meet his future bride, which complicates their mission.

The grandmother expresses a wish to see Nobita's future bride, triggering a panic when they discover the future Nobita has apparently run away from the wedding. The discovery deepens the sense that time is breaking apart.

In the future timeline, present Nobita steps in to stand in for his future self during the wedding, but his nerves cause him to flee during the ceremony. Doraemon and friends scramble to salvage the situation and keep the wedding plans from collapsing. The moment highlights how fear can derail even the best intentions.

The time machine vanishes, so Doraemon uses the Soul Time Machine to transfer Nobita's soul back into the past to retrieve it. They also aim to recover the Path-Finding Stick needed for navigation. The stakes rise as memory and order hang in the balance.

Using the stick, they locate the future Nobita hiding in the present era. He explains why and how he ended up here and laments that Shizuka might be happier if he did not exist. His confession deepens the emotional cost of the time ruse.

Doraemon uses the Switching Rope to swap the two Nobita bodies, hoping to set things right. A future salesman arrives, warning that the memories could be erased permanently if they aren’t swapped back within an hour. The looming memory loss adds urgency to every move.

Present Nobita (in future Nobita's body) and Doraemon search for the real future Nobita. Future Nobita confronts Shizuka and clashes with older bullies, fading in and out as his friends intervene. Both Nobitas fall unconscious, heightening the danger of lost memories.

Doraemon uses the Anywhere Door to reach present Nobita's body and the swap is reversed, preventing memory erasure. The two Nobitas’ souls are swapped back to their correct bodies, stabilizing their identities. The crisis ends as memories are saved.

Future Nobita realizes why Shizuka loves him and prepares to return home, even visiting the day of his birth to learn the meaning of his name. He delivers a heartfelt speech at the wedding and notices his past self observing the moment with his grandmother. He confesses to Shizuka that Doraemon has saved him one last time.

Back with his grandmother alive, she points out Nobita's strengths, moving him to tears. They part ways and return to the time machine, where a pretend fight leads to Nobita being hit with the Forgetting Stick. Doraemon decides it is better to let the day fade from most memories and to keep the grandmother's wish intact.

During the end credits, snippets of Nobita's past and future life flash alongside events of the current day. The final frame shows Nobita with his grandmother and with Shizuka, underscoring the day's emotional journey.
