Janina Duszejko lives a quiet life in the secluded mountains of the Klodzko Valley in south-western Poland. She shares her home with her beloved two dogs, forming a unique bond with her canine companions.

While driving Dobra Nowina to the store, Duszejko's two dogs mysteriously vanish. This incident sets off a chain of events as she searches for answers concerning their disappearance.

Duszejko confronts her neighbor, a notorious poacher known as Big Foot, whom she suspects is responsible for her dogs' disappearance. She is determined to expose the cruel traps he sets for animals in the area.

Suddenly, Duszejko is awakened by Matoga, who brings unsettling news: Big Foot is dead. This turns the community's attention towards the implications of his death, further complicating matters.

As Duszejko speaks with the police chief about her missing dogs, her concerns are dismissed as irrelevant. This reinforces her feeling of isolation and frustration with the authorities.

The police chief, facing pressure from businessman Jaroslaw Wnetrzak over a financial debt, begins to sidestep Duszejko's case. The power dynamics in the town start to reveal layers of corruption and neglect.

Duszejko attempts to disrupt a hunt due to her disdain for the senseless killing of animals. The encounter ends poorly, with Wnetrzak humiliating her and leaving her feeling more marginalized.

During winter, Duszejko and IT expert Dyzio stumble upon the abandoned vehicle of the police chief. Upon investigation, they discover his lifeless body alongside animal tracks, raising alarming questions.

Duszejko presents her astrological theories about the chief's death to Prokurator Swierszczynski but is again dismissed. Her attempts to communicate her concerns about justice are met with skepticism.

Duszejko becomes friends with Dyzio and Dobra Nowina, the latter struggling under Wnetrzak’s oppressive control. Together, they navigate their tumultuous lives in the shadow of corruption.

Duszejko meets Czech entomologist Boros Schneider while exploring the forest. Their connection deepens as he reveals fascinating insights about insects, and they discover Wnetrzak's decayed body.

Duszejko faces accusations regarding the recent deaths, with the prosecutor questioning her possible involvement. She offers outlandish theories about the hunters being hunted themselves.

At a local costumed ball, Duszejko witnesses the mayor mistreating his wife and later finds herself arrested for his murder. Her attempt to clear her name becomes entangled in misunderstandings.

After being ejected from church, Duszejko recalls past events that lead her to realize her involvement in the police chief's accidental death. Her reflections bring a chilling revelation of guilt.

As the police close in on Duszejko, her friends Matoga, Dyzio, and Dobra Nowina conspire to help her escape. Utilizing Dyzio's tech skills, they orchestrate a thrilling escape from the town.

In the aftermath, Duszejko finds happiness with two new dogs and her supportive friends, including Boros. They celebrate together in a neighboring country, leaving behind the chaos and violence.
