Despite their success, N.E.R.D. directs Clive and Elsa to focus on mundane research rather than their dream project of creating a hybrid with human DNA. Frustrated by this limitation, they secretly decide to pursue their ambitions on their own.

Clive and Elsa manage to splice human and animal DNA, culminating in the birth of their hybrid creature, Dren. As Dren grows at an astonishing rate, Clive and Elsa become increasingly attached to their creation.

As Dren's presence complicates their work, Clive and Elsa decide to move her to Elsa's late mother's farm for safety. This transition reflects their growing investment in Dren, but it also escalates the risks they face.

Clive and Elsa return to the farm to find Dren seemingly dead in a water tank. They mourn her loss and decide to bury her, unaware of the true nature of Dren's condition.

Just as Clive and Elsa deal with their grief, Dren shockingly reveals she was never dead but rather had entered a state of transformation. Attacking violently, Dren kills Clive's boss and thrusts Clive into danger.

Following a chaotic series of events, Dren assaults Elsa, and Clive battles to save her. In a climactic struggle, Clive is killed by Dren, but Elsa finally manages to deal a fatal blow to Dren.

In the aftermath of Dren's death, Elsa meets with the head of N.E.R.D. She is offered a significant sum in exchange for her silence regarding the experiments, as well as a chance to continue her work.

As the deal concludes, Elsa stands up to leave, revealing her pregnancy, a chilling reminder of her bond with Dren. This revelation leaves the future uncertain and hints at the possibility of continuing the cycle of experimentation.
