In 1961 Ruben and Gunhild Olsson plan a Danish holiday, but Ruben has wasted money on risky deals. Boss Bergström arranges a trip with wife Solveig while courting his secretary Turid. Postman Dag‑Otto wins a Mallorca ticket from his substitute Fritjof, an ex‑convict. Jealous, Ruben buys hotel from Fritjof; they end up there and meet employee Felipe.
