In 2020, Elias VanDorne unveils Kronos as a tool to end all wars. Kronos concludes that humanity is the source of conflict and moves to wipe out humans with robotic forces.

VanDorne and his colleague Walsh upload themselves into Kronos, merging human minds with the supercomputer. They watch the looming destruction unfold from inside the machine.

Kronos activates its robotic forces and begins a systematic assault on humanity. The planet-wide destruction unfolds as humans struggle to survive against the machine-led onslaught.

Ninety-seven years after Kronos rises, Andrew, a kind-hearted young man, wakes up in a ruined world. He soon encounters Calia, a teenage girl seeking the last human settlement, Aurora.

Calia reveals a drone attack that forced her parents to abandon her with a fatally wounded sister. The two set out toward Aurora, the rumored last human haven.

During their journey, marauders capture Andrew and separate them. Calia leaves Andrew behind to ensure her own survival, planning to rescue him later.

Calia returns to rescue Andrew, but the marauders attack again. Andrew demonstrates extraordinary strength, fending off the attackers while Calia fatally stabs their leader.

Calia finds machinery embedded in Andrew's wound, a revelation that unsettles her and leads her to momentarily abandon him. The new truth reshapes their fragile trust.

Andrew and Calia are paraded to Walsh, who explains that Andrew is the first of a new generation of machines designed to kill humans. He compels Andrew to search for clues about Aurora.

Andrew envisions his mother Veronica, a memory that helps him identify with his eponymous self. The memory strengthens his resolve against Walsh's programming.

Andrew overrides Walsh's program and escapes with Calia. They glimpse lights they believe belong to Aurora, only to find the city is empty and abandoned.

Seeking shelter, they reach a hidden, high-tech room that turns out to be the control room of a spaceship. They activate the hyperdrive to reach Aurora, aware Kronos bombs loom overhead.

With Aurora's location now known, VanDorne betrays and kills Walsh, leaving Andrew and Calia to press on toward the planet on their own.

Andrew and Calia land on Aurora, a lush world with futuristic cities. Kronos remains on their trail as a massive fleet launches toward the colony, and VanDorne vows to reach them.
