In a tense and complex story set mostly in Southeast Asia, the film follows Vijay Sethupathi, who plays Thiru, a small-time thief who is hard of hearing and spends his days stealing valuables from unsuspecting victims with his loyal sidekick, Super. They live together with Thiru’s uncle, a man who believes he can only hear what is essential, adding a layer of humor and character depth to their lives. Thiru’s life takes a turn when he meets Venba, played by Anjali, a outspoken woman working on a rubber plantation in Malaysia. Despite her initial reluctance, Venba eventually falls for Thiru after discovering his genuine and caring nature. Their relationship begins with tension, but love blossoms between them, leading to a heartfelt marriage at the airport, symbolized by Thiru placing a thali on Venba’s head as fellow travelers celebrate their union, capturing a joyful selfie that signifies a new beginning.

However, their happiness is short-lived when Venba calls Thiru from Malaysia, pleading for help and revealing she’s in trouble. Driven by love and concern, Thiru makes a risky decision. He takes a loan of ₹5 lakh (about US$5,900), using his house as collateral, to facilitate her rescue. Thiru uncovers the horrifying truth that Venba’s uncle has been involved in trafficking young girls, including Venba herself, selling them into a criminal organization without her knowledge. She had managed to contact Thiru through a mediator named Robert and now desperately asks him to bring the money to Thailand so he can save her.

Thiru prepares for this dangerous mission by obtaining two passports—one for himself under the name Hakim Sindhubaadh and another for his friend Super, who goes by Milan Bharti. Their journey takes them through Malaysia and into Thailand, where Thiru’s skills as a thief and his quick wit are put to the test. Along the way, they encounter a police officer named Ganesh, who informs Thiru about a notorious crime boss, Chang, and his ruthless brother, Ling. Thiru is compelled to infiltrate Ling’s estate to steal medals and shields, a task that turns perilous when his actions are discovered.

At Ling’s compound, chaos erupts as Thiru and Super are caught. Ling, played by a formidable antagonist, kills one of Thiru’s associates by hanging him off a cliff, while Thiru himself narrowly escapes after spitting in Ling’s face and plunging into a river to evade capture. The chase intensifies through the streets and rocky terrain, with Ling’s men relentlessly pursuing Thiru and Super. They navigate a series of dangers, including a tense confrontation at a bus station and escape attempts through rocky valleys. Meanwhile, Venba reaches a boat in Kanchanaburi, but her captors find her and take her back, deepening the urgency of Thiru’s mission.

As Thiru and Super reach a high-rise in Surat Thani, they throw objects at Ling’s men from a balcony, managing to fend off their pursuers temporarily. Their quest for Venba leads them to her friends and associates, including a character named Dan, whom Thiru convincingly fights and overpowers, rescuing Ganesh in the process. Ganesh reveals disturbing truths: Ling survived the explosion that supposedly killed him and is involved in illegal activities such as drug trafficking and a lucrative but heinous black market trade in transplanted skin from young girls—an operation that Venba had unknowingly been caught up in. These revelations add layers of horror to an already intense narrative.

Thiru and Super travel back to Thailand with the ₹5 lakh payment, confronting Robert and dealing with Ling’s criminal network. They relentlessly fight Ling’s men, who are determined to eliminate them to protect their illicit empire. The climax sees Thiru confronting Ling in a brutal fight, ending with the girls turning against Ling, brutally beating and killing him—bringing justice to the chaos and cruelty he perpetuated. The story concludes with Thiru, Venba, and Super alive and together, living happily after overcoming immense dangers, betrayal, and violence.

Throughout the film, themes of love, courage, and justice are woven into a high-stakes narrative filled with action, emotional moments, and moral dilemmas, making it a gripping tale of resilience and redemption.
