In a remote village, Sakthivel and Thangarasu are stepbrothers whose lives weave through courage, loyalty, and the price of truth. Sakthivel stands as a man of high values and integrity, a husband to his wife and father to a son, living by a quiet code. Thangarasu, in contrast, is fiery and quick to take a stand against injustice, a temperament that earns him both respect and trouble. The village allows them both to be seen as pillars, yet Sakthivel refuses to acknowledge Thangarasu as his brother, creating a subtle rift beneath the surface that underscores every shared moment.

As fate would have it, Manju and Revathi fall in love with Thangarasu, adding a layer of personal desire and communal tension to the brothers’ already delicate relationship. The tension escalates during a wedding function when rowdies harass Sakthivel’s wife, Manju, and Revathi. Thangarasu steps in to defend them, delivering a harsh beatdown to the aggressors. The confrontation compounds the existing tension, and when the village court convenes, Sakthivel publicly humiliates Thangarasu, shaming him in front of everyone. The humiliation breaks Thangarasu’s heart and he begins to blame his mother, convinced that she killed his father. The truth only begins to surface when his grandfather steps in to reveal a long-buried secret.

The tale then slides into a haunting past, where Sathyamurthy shines as a village chief with a heart of gold who dedicates himself to helping the poor. He lives with his stern wife Annapoorani and their son Sakthivel. Annapoorani’s brothers push her to abandon the charity that fuels Sathyamurthy’s life, and her worldview hardens, pushing a wedge between husband and wife. Sathyamurthy gradually distances himself, yet secretly continues to aid the needy. Suspicion festers when Annapoorani accuses him of having an affair with the poor woman Kannamma, publicly shaming Kannamma in the process. Kannamma’s life spirals toward tragedy when she attempts suicide, but Sathyamurthy saves her. His mother counsels him to marry Kannamma, setting the stage for later revelations.

Back in the present, Thangarasu finally reunites with Kannamma, who has spent years in a special home before returning to the village with Thangarasu’s help. Sakthivel’s attack on Kannamma for supposedly killing his father rekindles old wounds, and a tense clash between the brothers ensues. It is their grandmother who intervenes, guiding them to the truth: Sathyamurthy was poisoned, a deed framed on Kannamma by Annapoorni and her brothers. The revelation reframes the brothers’ animosity and clears Kannamma of any blame.

In a turning point of forgiveness, Sakthivel apologizes to Thangarasu and Kannamma, and Annapourani scolds her brothers for their cruel actions, though they insist on their innocence. The brothers and Kannamma finally uncover the real antagonist: Thambidurai, a wealthy zamindar who despised Sathyamurthy for his generosity to the poor. A confrontation ensues in which Sakthivel and Thangarasu overpower Thambidurai and his henchmen, leading to his arrest for the murder of their father. The film closes on a note of justice and renewed family bonds, as the truth reclaims the family’s legacy and the village witnesses a hard-won reconciliation.
