The movie kicks off with the grand inauguration of Annapurna Sevashram, a hospital dedicated to the memory of Annapurna, lovingly established by her husband. Before she passed away, Annapurna had expressed a heartfelt wish for her husband to ensure that no villager would succumb to illness for lack of medical care. Entrusted with the responsibility of this noble initiative is Ramen, a skilled neurosurgeon and the adopted son of Annapurna. The family gathers for this significant occasion, including Arun, Annapurna's younger son who has returned from abroad, where he worked in agricultural research.
In the days following the inauguration, the family focuses on finding a bride for Varun. Their search leads them to Deepali, a potential match. During this visit, however, Deepali's younger sister Sonali insists on disguising herself as an elderly woman to humorously interrogate Varun. Arun, with keen eyes, sees through her act. Eventually, both families agree to the union between Varun and Deepali, quickly setting a date for the wedding. Following the ceremony, Deepali moves into her in-laws' home.
As summer vacation rolls around, Sonali along with her cousin Rupa pays a visit to Deepali's new household. Behind the scenes, Arun decides to extend Sonali's stay by secretly bribing a priest. He even plays a light-hearted prank on Sonali, spinning a tale about a scarecrow that holds divine powers. In the midst of their playful banter, Sonali confesses to Arun her feelings for him, realizing afterward that Arun had orchestrated her prolonged visit, which leaves her feeling upset.
Shortly after, Arun collapses from intense headaches. Although he initially downplays the situation, medical tests soon reveal a shocking diagnosis: he has a brain tumor. This devastating news weighs heavily on both families. In light of this, Robin, presumably paying close attention to the situation, dives into researching possible treatments and establishing a medical board of specialists. As Arun enters a state of depression, he implores Deepali to send a message to Sonali, urging her to move on and forget about him.
In a twist of determination, Sonali resolves to stand by Arun's side, choosing to fulfill their unfinished marriage even as her family and Arun's father express their displeasure. She arrives at Arun's home, steadfast in her decision to remain with him. Eventually, Arun relents, applying sindoor to her forehead, symbolizing their union and reinvigorating his will to live. However, shortly thereafter, Arun experiences another medical episode.
The specialists weigh in, revealing the precarious nature of any potential surgery. Even with the risks acknowledged, Ramen opts to proceed with the operation, despite opposition from Pratima. Sonali, unwavering in her support, places her complete faith in Ramen's expertise. As family members from both sides converge at the hospital, Arun takes a moment to connect with them before being wheeled into the operating room.
Miraculously, the operation is a success, and Arun begins to recover from his health crisis. The film concludes on a celebratory note, as the wedding ceremony for Arun and Sonali is rearranged and conducted with proper grandeur, marking the beginning of their shared journey together.
