Thirteen‑year‑old Jesse despises his teacher, Mrs. Fink. During a visit to a vintage clothing shop he discovers a doll that looks exactly like her and convinces the shopkeeper to sell it. After he accidentally pricks the doll’s arm with a sewing needle, he wakes to find Mrs. Fink nursing a sling, and notices a new spot on the doll’s face that matches the mole on his teacher’s cheek, leaving him thoroughly unnerved.
