Ed quits his job at a bagel shop and, after impressing the principal, is hired to run an after-school sex-ed program at an inner-city middle school. He moves out of his apartment, clearing the way for JT to invite Ally into his place.

Ed moves out of his apartment, freeing up space for JT to invite Ally into the living space. JT uses the opportunity to pursue kinky sex with Ally, reflecting the chaotic dynamic in their home.

Ed and Pilar make up and go on a second date. Pilar goes to her favorite club but is blocked by a bouncer, and a confrontation with Hector leads Ed to punch him, resulting in another arrest.

Motivated by his anger, Ed forces his way into Reverend Hamilton's support group with his class and argues for the importance of sex education. He then admits that he is a virgin in front of everyone, and the Reverend is impressed enough to allow the class.

Pilar arrives at Ed's apartment and reveals she wants him to be her first partner, but Ed declines and suggests waiting; she leaves angrily, but passes JT in his underwear, which impresses him. Sydney tells Ed that he is a man now because he is in control of his life.

A year later, Ed runs one of the school's most popular classes and has earned the respect of his students. His work has transformed the program and given him a renewed sense of purpose.
