Scott Pilgrim vs. the Animation

Scott attends a party in Toronto where he first glimpses Ramona Flowers, a mysterious American delivery girl, and feels an undeniable pull toward her. This encounter is also tied to his recurring dream about Ramona. The moment sets up the central romance and the quest ahead.

Scott begins dating Knives Chau, a 17 year old high school student, despite the disapproval of his bandmates and Wallace. He feels drawn to Ramona but hesitates to end things with Knives, prolonging the conflict between his current relationship and his growing attraction to Ramona.

During the early events, Ramona's ex Matthew Patel launches a brutal attack on Scott, triggering a fight. Scott overpowers Patel, proving his combat resolve and setting the tone for the tougher duels to come.

As the contest unfolds, Scott learns a prophecy that to date Ramona he must defeat her remaining six evil exes. This revelation pushes him onto a comic book style quest through escalating duels.

Scott ends his relationship with Knives as he pursues Ramona, though Knives blames Ramona and vows to win him back. Scott shifts his focus from ordinary romance to the challenge posed by Ramona and her exes.

Scott faces Lucas Lee, Ramona's second ex, a famous actor and skateboarder, in a duel. He defeats Lucas by exploiting an icy railing, proving that clever strategy can beat brute force.

Opening for Clash at Demonhead, Ramona's third ex Todd Ingram uses vegan powers to gain an edge. Scott tricks Todd into drinking half and half, triggering the vegan police to strip Todd of his powers and allowing Scott to win.

Ramona's fourth ex Roxy Richter challenges Scott and Ramona. With Ramona's aid, Scott fights and defeats Roxy, though the tension in their relationship deepens as Ramona's dating history strains Scott.

In the next round, Sex Bob-Omb defeats Ramona's fifth and sixth exes, the Katayanagi twins Kyle and Ken, earning an extra life and moving closer to winning Ramona's love.

Ramona's seventh ex Gideon Graves makes an appearance and offers a deal with the band, which Scott rejects in protest. Young Neil steps up as the new bassist as tensions rise around the looming final duel.

Gideon invites Scott to a final duel over Ramona at the Chaos Theater. Scott wields the power of love, but Ramona is momentarily attacked as Scott is forced to reveal his infidelity, and Gideon uses the moment to strike, killing Scott.

A lucky 1-up brings Scott back to life, and he returns to Chaos Theater determined to reclaim control. He readies himself to fight Gideon again for his own autonomy and heart.

Back in the arena, Scott wields the Power of Self-Respect to oppose Gideon Graves and defeats him with Knives by his side. He apologizes to Ramona and Knives for his earlier infidelity, accepting his flaws and choosing a future with Ramona.

In the film's closing twist, Scott encounters a darker version of himself, Nega-Scott, and finds a strange camaraderie in their shared shadows. Knives watches as Scott and Ramona's relationship begins a new path, and Scott leaves with Ramona to try again.
