Samrat Prithviraj

In 1192 CE, Prithviraj Chauhan finds himself in a perilous situation after being captured by Muhammad Ghori in Ghazni, Afghanistan. Ghori intends to demonstrate his dominance by forcing Prithviraj to confront three ferocious lions.

Despite being weakened and blind, Prithviraj displays extraordinary courage and manages to slay the lions, proving his strength to Ghori. Ultimately, he collapses after the battle, showcasing the physical toll of his bravery.

The narrative shifts back to a few years earlier in Kannauj, where Sanyogita, the daughter of Jayachandra, falls deeply in love with Prithviraj, who reigns over Ajmer. Their romance sparks a conflict that unfolds throughout the story.

In Ajmer, Prithviraj is approached by Mir Hossain, the estranged brother of Ghori. Hossain seeks Prithviraj's help due to his love for Chitralekha and the recent desecration of a Shiva temple, prompting Prithviraj to take action against Ghori.

After tensions rise, Qutb Al-Din Aibak is dispatched to demand compliance from Prithviraj, who refuses and leads his warriors into the First Battle of Tarain. Alongside his allies, he achieves victory but loses Mir Hossain in the conflict.

In the aftermath of the battle, Prithviraj is proclaimed the ruler of Delhi, a title that stirs jealousy in Jayachandra. Tensions brew as Jayachandra wishes to undermine Prithviraj's influence and orchestrates a plan to entrap him.

Jayachandra organizes a Svayamvara for his daughter Sanyogita, with intentions to humiliate Prithviraj. Despite inviting him, Prithviraj formally declines the Rajasuya Yagya, prompting Jayachandra to erect a statue in his absence.

During the Svayamvara ceremony, Sanyogita defies her father's wishes by placing the Varmala upon Prithviraj's statue. This act of defiance enrages Jayachandra and sets off a chain of events leading to her marriage with Prithviraj.

Following their marriage, tensions rise as Jayachandra's forces attack Prithviraj's strongholds. In the battle for Gaudpur Fort, Kaka Kanha and several of Prithviraj's men lose their lives, deepening the rift between the two kingdoms.

Wracked with vengeance after Kaka Kanha's death, Prithviraj considers retaliation against Jayachandra. Ultimately, he remembers his friend's last wish for peace and appoints Sanyogita to a powerful position, breaking traditional norms.

In a bid to recapture power, Jayachandra conspires with Ghori and offers him assistance in taking down Prithviraj. Ghori sends Aibak to deliver an ultimatum, warning that Prithviraj must submit or war will ensue.

Determined to protect his sovereignty, Prithviraj rejects Ghori's ultimatum and prepares for a second confrontation. The stage is set for the Second Battle of Tarain, where both sides anticipate a fierce clash.

During the Second Battle of Tarain, Ghori's forces launch a surprise night attack, resulting in a catastrophic defeat for Prithviraj and his men. Captured once again, Prithviraj is taken back to Ghazni as a prisoner.

In captivity, Prithviraj learns about the tragic act of Jauhar committed by Sanyogita and the Rajput women. Their sacrifices reflect the depths of their loyalty and honor, highlighting the grim reality of their situation.

Prithviraj, now blinded and forced to fight lions again, ultimately triumphs against Ghori with the help of his bard, Chand Bardai. However, their victory is bittersweet as they both fall to Ghori's men, capping off a tragic saga.
