R.I.P.D. 2: Rise of the Damned

The movie opens with Otis Clairborne as he successfully opens a gateway to hell in search of gold. In this dark moment, he becomes possessed by a mysterious being, setting off a chain of events that will affect many lives.

Sheriff Roy Pulsipher is ambushed and killed by a gang led by Otis Clairborne in Red Creek, Utah. His death marks the transition from a lawman of the living to an agent of the R.I.P.D., where he will fight against the forces of evil.

As Roy ascends to the afterlife, he finds himself in the R.I.P.D. office. He decides to join the department by shaking hands with the office manager, Hano, committing himself to battle the Deados on Earth.

Roy is sent back to the living world but unexpectedly lands in an outhouse located in an open field. His arrival is chaotic as he is immediately overrun by a herd of buffalo, adding to the absurdity of his rebirth.

After his chaotic landing, Roy encounters his new partner, Jeanne d'Arc. Together, they form a unique partnership as they embark on their mission to confront the Deados and save humanity.

Roy and Jeanne intercept a prison transport carrying three captured criminals. They cleverly distract the marshals to identify one prisoner as a Deado due to burn marks, leading to a fierce battle with Jeanne taking the lead.

After eliminating two of the criminals, Roy and Jeanne manage to capture the third criminal, Slim Samuels. They interrogate Slim about Otis Clairborne's sinister plans while keeping him securely tied up.

Roy and Jeanne arrive at a deserted town and check into a hotel. They disguise themselves as two black sisters, which raises suspicion from the local mayor, Julius Butterfield, who seems to be hiding something.

Roy and Jeanne discover that Mayor Butterfield has been orchestrating a betrayal. They find themselves imprisoned after trying to confront him, leading to a desperate fight for freedom.

In prison, Roy comes face-to-face with Angus, his daughter's fiancé. This unexpected reunion brings back memories of his life and reinforces his resolve to stop Clairborne's plans for hell.

With help from Beverly, the hotel employee, Slim is freed and manages to rescue Roy and Jeanne from their captors. Their escape marks a pivotal turn in their mission against Otis Clairborne.

Jeanne overcomes her fear of fire and bravely jumps over the open gateway to hell. Using a drop of Jesus' tears, she successfully seals the gateway, preventing further evil from entering the realm.

In an epic showdown, Roy discovers the tears of Jesus and uses them to drench his bullets. This crucial moment allows him to defeat the devil's creature that had possessed Otis Clairborne.

After the victory over Clairborne's creature, Slim and Beverly are appointed as sheriff and deputy sheriff. They arrest Mayor Butterfield, ensuring justice is served for Roy's murder.

Roy attends his daughter's wedding to Angus, marking a bittersweet moment as he realizes he must say goodbye. However, due to his 100-year contract with the R.I.P.D., he remains bound to Jeanne.
