The film begins with Lili, a 19-year-old girl, providing a voice-over as she reflects on her life in 1975. The opening scene establishes her character and her close friendship with another girl with whom she shares intimate moments in bed.

Lili and her friend attend their art class where they learn about an assignment on drawing silhouettes. After class, they visit a cafe where Lili has a disagreement with a young man, before transitioning to a pub where they meet a strange man who buys them drinks.

The strange man introduces himself as Gérard and invites the girls to a club called Smoking. They meet that evening and begin to flirt, which leads to a night filled with dancing and casual intimacy, as they also meet Bada.

Following a night out, Lili spends the following day with Bada instead of attending her classes. As their relationship develops, Bada gifts Lili an expensive bracelet, raising suspicions about the source of his cash.

Bada calls Lili to inform her that he is involved in a bank robbery that has turned tragic, resulting in the deaths of both a bank teller and Gérard. The details unfold as Lili observes the commotion surrounding the bank, filled with fear and confusion.

After agreeing to hide with Bada and Alain, Lili discovers a bag filled with bundles of cash. Tension builds as Alain, Bada’s partner, wakes up and confronts her, but the atmosphere is charged with uncertainty and fear regarding their future.

The group decides to leave the city, and Lili's bond with Bada deepens. They pick Joelle up, and thus begins their journey fraught with danger as they make escape plans amidst the chaos and uncertainty of their criminal activities.

Upon arriving in Morocco, Lili and the group struggle with challenges related to their stolen money. As they navigate the local customs and their own decisions, Lili and Bada's relationship continues to develop, filled with both romantic and risky undertones.

Tensions rise in their hideout in Casablanca when Alain throws a knife at Lili in a fit of rage. The near-miss marks a pivotal moment where Lili begins to question her association with the group, especially Bada and Alain.

The group faces a significant turbulence when customs detains Lili in Greece while Bada and Alain manage to escape without her. Lili becomes severely lost and distraught, leading her to destructive tendencies as she grapples with her isolation.

While in Greece, Lili tries to cope alone and is faced with the harsh reality of her choices. She meets Georges who offers her a semblance of stability, but she is emotionally detached and struggles with depression.

Back in France, Lili learns about Bada's sentence to death and her own two-year prison term. The news spirals her into a cycle of depression, where she confronts her past decisions and experiences multiple suicide attempts.

Lili courageously visits Bada's parents at their hair salon. The encounter is bittersweet as the father recognizes her, but their emotional connection remains strained, highlighting Lili's journey of redemption and reconciliation.

In a devastating moment, Lili hears news on the radio that Bada was shot as he attempted to escape. The shock of the news sends her into a frantic state, driving her to the streets, lost in grief and longing.

After a conversation with Laurence, Lili decides to take a job working in a hotel on an island, marking a turn towards beginning anew. This decision signifies her attempt to move on from the chaos of her past and find a new direction in her life.
