Rebel High

The movie begins with students coming back from spring break, setting the scene for the chaotic school environment. The new principal, Edwin Swimper, arrives after the previous principal's death due to stress caused by the school's chaos. The school is portrayed as a place of disorder with empty classes and ongoing gang conflicts.

Swimper decides to replace traditional classes with unconventional ones like archery to tackle the chaos. The hallways are transformed into archery ranges, reflecting the school's shift towards chaos and rebellion. Teachers are disoriented as academic structures are abandoned in favor of absurd activities.

Calvin, the gang leader, burns down his office as a protest against the school's new policies. This act of rebellion prompts Swimper to abandon his plans for reform and he quits his position on the spot, indicating the collapse of order in the school.

The city council gives the teachers one last chance to find a new principal or the school will be converted into a parking lot. The only candidate available is Peckham, who is inexperienced with urban high schools but is hired by Vice Principal Relic due to his background in African schools.

On his first day, Peckham learns about the school’s chaotic state, including a smoke-filled library devoid of books. During a gang gunfight in the hallways, Peckham is hit and loses consciousness, highlighting the school’s dangerous environment.

Relic and other teachers hide Peckham in the janitor's room. They decide to hire Sgt. Major and his tracking dog to find him. The dog leads them to the school's toilets, which have been transformed into a clandestine health club run by Calvin's gang.

Inspectors arrive, including the returning Edwin Swimper, to evaluate the school. They are surprised to find a transformed school with a functional library, a gym, and students marching in the hallways. Calvin’s gang has turned the school into a seemingly legitimate institution.

Relic creates a diversion by taking inspectors to Ms. Simpson, the guidance counselor. She mistakenly believes Swimper is her former lover and starts to pursue him, allowing Relic to discredit Swimper and cause chaos during the inspection.

Swimper flees from the school with Ms. Simpson chasing him through the streets, shouting for him. Meanwhile, the school’s reputation is undermined by the chaos, leading to plans for the school’s future that involve drugging the inspectors to pass inspection.

The cafeteria is transformed into a restaurant where staff secretly order and serve drugs, ensuring the inspectors pass. The city council plans to demolish the school are thwarted as the inspectors are high enough to approve the school's operation.

Relic allows Calvin's gang to graduate, despite their chaotic history, as part of the deal. Calvin introduces his younger brother to Relic, who immediately retaliates by blowing up Relic’s room with dynamite, symbolizing the ongoing chaos.
