In Chittur, Ayyappan is a petty thief who ekes out a living while trying to keep his family safe. He visits his relative Shekarankutty, a gas station owner, and with Radha and their daughter Sreedurga they share a relatively happy, ordinary life. The film sets up a close-knit family that will be tested by looming danger.

The police arrest Shekarankutty on suspicion of being Raja, a crime boss from Mumbai, creating immediate tension for Ayyappan and Radha. He is released when investigators cannot confirm his identity, but the fear and stigma linger. The incident foreshadows the danger looming over the family.

That very night, a gang connected to the underworld attacks the family in retaliation for a past clash with Ayyappan. The assault shatters their sense of security and pushes them toward drastic measures for safety. Ayyappan's earlier street fights resurface as he fights back.

The next day, the family relocates to a new house to escape the threat. The move marks a turning point, separating them from the immediate danger and forcing them to rebuild their routine. They cling to the hope that distance will bring them safety.

Ayyappan and Shekarankutty go to meet the police commissioner, hoping for protection and answers. The gang shadows them and they are cornered, effectively rounded up. In the heat of the confrontation, Ayyappan sees Shekarankutty unleash a ferocious beat-down, revealing his true identity as Raja.

After the fight, Shekarankutty explains his past to Ayyappan, setting up the backstory for his life in Mumbai. He sketches how ambition pulled him toward crime and how a life in the underworld began. The revelation reframes Ayyappan’s understanding of his relative.

In Mumbai, he arrives with the dream of becoming a businessman but ends up taking a job as a cab driver. The city places him on the edge of the underworld, where money and fear shape every choice. This humbling start foreshadows the path his life will take.

Vamshi, his boss, offers a path to power by joining the underworld, a life that promises money and status. Shekarankutty accepts the offer, trading legitimate work for crime and danger. This decision seeds the irreversible turn toward a violent life.

Chandru, Radha's brother and a member of Vamshi’s gang, is killed by Shekarankutty while he is trying to rescue Mahindra Varma’s daughter, who had been kidnapped. Varma, an old friend who helped him into a new life, becomes entangled in the consequences of Shekarankutty’s actions. Radha’s family remains unaware of Chandru’s death.

Radha and her family remain unaware of Chandru's death. The truth about his past remains hidden from them, adding tension to their fragile peace. The weight of past violence continues to press on the present.

Back in the present, Vamshi threatens to kill Ayyappan’s family if he refuses to follow orders. He manages to protect them just in time, but the looming threat keeps the couple on edge. The pressure from the underworld tightens around them.

Vamshi assigns Ayyappan to kill Mahindra Varma, the Chief Secretary in Coimbatore, on the occasion of Varma’s daughter's wedding. He is torn by his debt to Varma and the safety of his own family, yet Vamshi’s coercion leaves him little choice. The assignment exposes him to a moral crisis with potentially catastrophic consequences.

Varma, who had helped and inspired Shekarankutty in the past, is brought to Ahmed Shah under guard. Shah and his men attempt to kill Varma, but Shekarankutty intervenes, killing Shah and foiling the plan. The act cements Shekarankutty’s loyalty to Varma while sealing Shah’s fate.

In the end, Shekarankutty pieces together his past and chooses to shield his family from the violence that defined his life. He hides his former identity and returns to a quiet, content life with Radha and Sreedurga. The film closes on a note of fragile peace won through dangerous sacrifice.
