Puppet Master: Axis Termination

Following the events of Axis Rising, Danny, Kip Canyon and Beth, Jean Louise O’Sullivan, arrange to meet Captain Brooks, Paul Logan, to hand over the puppets meant for the American war effort. But a Nazi spy masquerading as Brooks arrives first, fatally shooting Danny and mortally wounding Beth before the real Brooks arrives and kills the impersonator. In her final words, Beth begs Brooks to look after the puppets.

Brooks carries the puppets back to his superior, Captain Kip Hansard, Allen Perada. There, he learns that the American army had been tipped off about the Nazis using occult rites to animate their puppets, a revelation that ties to the death of a US general (Porter from the previous film) and eight other American citizens. Hansard tasks Brooks with joining a group of psychics led by Doctor Ivan Ivanov, to uncover how the puppets work and how their magic might be harnessed for the war effort. Brooks is reluctant, uncomfortable with a Russian “dwarf” directing him and skeptical about living puppets and psychic phenomena, but over time he earns the group’s respect as Ivanov’s daughter reads his thoughts and reminds him of the war trauma he witnessed.

A few days later, a blackout plunges the city into darkness when a power station explodes. Brooks, the psychics, and the puppet allies Blade, Tunneler and Leech Woman investigate the site. They are ambushed by Sturmbahnfurher Krabke, Kevin Scott Allen a formidable psychic Nazi whose powers overwhelm them. Leech Woman proves instrumental in escaping by spitting a leech onto Krabke’s eye, allowing a retreat. Back home, they learn that Ivan’s daughter has been kidnapped, and the psychics use their abilities to trace her to an old mansion where a large team of Nazi spies is hiding.

Brooks, aided by the puppets, assaults the mansion and wipes out many of the Nazis before confronting Krabke again. Krabke unleashes his power, paralyzing Brooks, but Pinhead — one of the puppets — closes in and suffocates the Nazi with a firm grip. After another grim battle, the remaining Nazis are defeated, and Brooks and the puppets return to their base, placing the puppets back in the trunk to rest until their next assignment.
