Alejandro Fernandez, a devoted mariachi singer in Mexico City, struggles with the emotional void left by the passing of his wife. This loss significantly affects his daily life, as he grapples with memories that haunt him and his professional ambitions.

Alejandro's focus on his career creates a rift in his relationship with his daughter, Maria. She often feels overlooked and longs for her father's attention, which adds further strain on their bond as he chases his dreams.

In an attempt to provide a better life for Maria, Alejandro dreams of securing a visa that would allow her to stay with her grandparents in Arizona. However, his hope is shattered when Rachel Simons, a diplomat, denies his request for the necessary documentation.

After a promotion, Rachel arrives in Mexico City to work at the United States Embassy. Along with her new responsibilities, she inherits a laptop filled with sensitive data, which becomes a source of stress for her, especially with her mother's constant criticisms.

As Rachel prepares to leave for her new assignment, Alejandro and his band perform at her goodbye party. Despite numerous attempts to get Rachel's attention, she remains unaware of Alejandro's charms, focusing more on the event and her upcoming move.

As Rachel prepares to leave for London, Alejandro, accompanied by Canicas and Carol, heads to the airport to confess his feelings. Despite his efforts, Rachel remains firm in her decision to leave, indicating that their connection may not be enough to mend the rift.

One month later, as Maria excels in school, Alejandro and she hear mariachi music outside. To their surprise, Rachel appears, confessing her unchanged feelings for Alejandro and their bond reignites with a tender embrace, symbolizing love's resilience.
