Project MKHEXE

Tim Wilson returns home to document the funeral of his younger brother Sean, who died unexpectedly by suicide. The footage sets the tone for the documentary and reveals Sean's mysterious circumstances leading up to his death. Tim begins to suspect that Sean's death was connected to darker forces.

While reviewing Sean’s belongings, Tim uncovers notes, drawings, tapes, and recordings that suggest Sean was involved in investigating an internet urban legend called MKHEXE. Among these items are disturbing materials indicating Sean’s obsession with uncovering the truth about the project.

Tim finds Sean’s phone containing unsettling videos from the day of his death, hinting that Sean was conducting experiments at a childhood treehouse. These videos suggest Sean’s mental state was deteriorating and that he believed MKHEXE was real.

Tim confronts his parents about Sean’s possessions and the strange materials, but they deny any knowledge of MKHEXE and dismiss his concerns. This deepens the mystery and raises suspicion about what they might be hiding.

Tim recruits Sean’s friend Nicole to aid in the investigation. She reveals Sean’s growing obsession with MKHEXE, a purported Cold War CIA mind control project. Together, they begin filming to uncover the hidden truths surrounding MKHEXE.

They discover evidence such as testimonies, photographs, and mysterious media parcels that suggest MKHEXE is real and ongoing. Signs point to an ancient cult attempting to summon a god named Kzathguul through the project’s methods.

Tim finds the actual nightmare machine in the treehouse, along with a video revealing Sean’s possible possession. Temporarily overwhelmed, Tim exhibits symptoms of MKHEXE infection, including paranoia and hallucinations.

Clues lead Tim and Nicole to Viktor Teufel, a retired CIA doctor linked to MKHEXE. Teufel hints that belief in MKHEXE’s power fuels its influence, intensifying their resolve to uncover its dark origins before losing their grip on reality.

Their investigation becomes chaotic as infected friends attack, and Tim crashes his car during a seizure. The story reveals the dark history of MKHEXE, including sacrifices, prophetic visions, and suicides linked to the project.

Nicole is fatally stabbed, and she makes Tim promise to broadcast the truth about MKHEXE. Her death marks a turning point as Tim relentlessly tries to expose the conspiracy, despite the infection spreading among authorities.

Back at home, Tim learns that Sean was killed by their parents in self-defense, but the final reveal shows Sean actually took his own life to escape MKHEXE’s influence. This revelation horrifies Tim, fueling his revenge.

Enraged, Tim murders his parents, unable to bear the darkness surrounding his family. His actions are driven by grief and a desire to end the cycle of manipulation associated with MKHEXE. The film’s story nears its bleak conclusion.

Tim blinds himself in horror after viewing the fully visible MKHEXE video, which has become accessible to viewers. He completes the documentary, passing the torch of the story’s truth to the audience, and the video invites Kzathguul into reality.
