Colonel Jericho orders the Vulture Squad to search for the missing Green Berets after an airdrop into the remote jungle valley. The LRRP team is led by Baker with Wise as second-in-command, Verne the rookie radio operator, Eli and Charlie from Air Cavalry, and snipers Keyes and Stovall. They begin the dangerous mission under a dense, hostile canopy.

Shortly after insertion, Baker is attacked by an unseen creature but manages to drive it away. The hostile omen signals that the valley hides predators beyond ordinary danger. The team presses on toward the missing Green Berets.

Following the Green Berets' trail, the Vultures move through a cave tunnel where they are ambushed by Deinonychus. The chaos forces Baker and Verne to become separated from Wise, Miller, Keyes, and Stovall.

A Soviet reconnaissance unit called the Dogs of War tracks the Vulture Squad. Aleksandr is ambushed and killed by the predator that attacked Baker, raising the stakes for both squads.

Baker and Verne are rescued by Sofia Wagner, a Soviet paleontologist, who brings them to an abandoned research station. She explains that the valley hosts dinosaurs transported here by a failed science experiment. The trio begins planning their next move.

Sofia reveals the catastrophe: Borodin's particle collider created wormholes that dumped dinosaurs into the valley. She recounts Borodin murdered her husband and coworkers for questioning him and identifies the attacker as a larger, more dangerous raptor.

The rest of the Vulture Squad is attacked by the Dogs of War, and Keyes is shot in the leg during the fight. The group fights to hold the line and stay alive as danger comes from both humans and dinosaurs.

A flock of Quetzalcoatlus swoops into the valley, killing Tolstoy and forcing both squads into a rapid retreat. The aerial threat shifts the battle dynamics and forces a hasty regrouping.

The Deinonychus pack returns, dragging Keyes away. He fights the predators and manages to wound a larger raptor with a decisive blow, but is fatally wounded by that bigger predator. The others must retreat and regroup without him.

Despite his injuries, Keyes makes a last stand, using grenades to slow the raptors as the rest of the squad escapes by boat. His sacrifice buys precious time for the others, but he remains behind.

Sofia explains that Borodin's collider could create wormholes to teleport Soviet troops, making it a pivotal Cold War asset. The Vulture Squad resolves to disable the collider to avert a global catastrophe.

At the Soviet base, Borodin's soldiers kill an infant Tyrannosaurus, provoking its parents to attack. The dinosaur assault escalates, threatening both sides and forcing hurried action.

As the tyrannosaurs rampage, Stovall sacrifices himself to buy the others time. Miller confronts Con Nhen and detonates his explosives, dying in an act meant to cripple the attackers.

Jericho arrives with US reinforcements as a large pack of raptors attacks. Borodin, Nikita, and Taylor are killed in the onslaught while the team works to bring the situation under control.

Baker sacrifices himself to hold off the remaining raptors while Sofia, Verne, Xavier Wise, and Sergei join Jericho's forces to fight. The explosive devices destroy the collider, but the dinosaurs begin migrating out of the valley, signaling a grim new era.
