Drawing from David Wojnarowicz’s autobiographical texts, the film follows the artist’s harrowing childhood, marked by severe abuse at his father’s hands, and his decision to flee to New York. There he lives on the streets, surviving as a hustler while confronting the trauma that will later shape his art.
