After a circus aerialist, Polly Fisher, is injured, she is brought to the home of minister John Hartley. They fall in love and wed in secret, but the marriage becomes public. Parishioners reject Polly’s performer past, forcing John to lose his pastorate. Polly must choose between staying with John or leaving to protect his calling.
