With Mr. Brown’s birthday approaching, Paddington worries he cannot afford a gift. Determined, he takes on odd jobs, first serving as a waiter at a high‑society dinner and later stepping onto the dance floor as the partner of the elegant hostess Mrs. Smith‑Cholmley in a televised charity‑ball competition. Each effort spirals into comic mishaps, but his devotion drives him onward.
