Overhaul (2023) Plot Summary & Ending Explained

In the climax Roger accepts one last, impossible job: hijacking a police convoy loaded with weapons. He pretends to obey Smokey’s orders, delivers the container to the gang and, in exchange for Barbara’s freedom, forces Smokey to hand her over. With Barbara safe, Roger secretly plants his phone on the container, warns Odilon that the police are on their way, and speeds away. Moments later a shoot‑out erupts at the rendez‑vous warehouse; the police, having tracked Roger’s signal, storm the scene and arrest Smokey, his men and Odilon while the gang is caught off‑guard.

Still reeling from the chaos, Roger slips the reclaimed weapons into his racing truck and, with Barbara’s help, crosses the finish line first, clinching the race that had once seemed out of reach. As the crowd cheers, Officer Alfonso arrives and places Roger under arrest for his involvement with the criminals. Rather than protest, Roger accepts the consequence, acknowledging that his choices have finally caught up with him.
