In the opening scene, Laine and her friend Debbie engage in a game of Ouija to connect with the spirit world. They chant an incantation, inviting spirits to communicate, but the atmosphere quickly shifts when Laine is interrupted by her younger sister Sarah.

As the supernatural occurrences escalate, one of their friends, Isabelle, meets a horrifying fate linked to the spirit. This tragedy deepens the conflict between Laine and Trevor, fueling Trevor’s anger towards Laine for instigating the séance.

Determined to understand the dark history surrounding Debbie's home, Laine embarks on a quest to uncover the truth. Her investigation leads her to a mental asylum where she learns about a girl named Doris and her mother's tragic beliefs, providing a chilling context for the events they are facing.

In the asylum, Paulina Zander shares a haunting tale of her sister Doris, whose mother believed malevolent spirits were communicating through her. This revelation unveils a horrific backstory, compounding Laine's urgency to find Doris's body and appease the lingering spirits.

Laine's search leads her to uncover Doris's decaying corpse, which has been grotesquely sewn shut by her mother. Taking a harrowing step, Laine cuts open the stitched mouth, unleashing the spirits of Doris and her malevolent mother, intensifying the confrontation.

In a climactic confrontation at Debbie's house, Laine, Sarah, and Trevor must face the unleashed spirits as they try to banish them. With the knowledge that both the Ouija board and Doris's remains must be destroyed, they prepare for a final act of bravery.
