The director creates a family portrait of his grandmother, Odette Robert, while openly showing the filmmaking process: seated together, he pours her whiskey, interacts with the camera crew, operates the clapperboard, and even takes a phone call. At seventy‑one, Robert recounts her life from a childhood in Bordeaux‑region villages. A shorter version titled “Odette Robert” aired on TF1 in 1980; the full film was restored and released in 2002 by Boris Eustache, Thierry Lounas, João Bénard da Costa, Jean‑Marie Straub and Pedro Costa.
