Set against the backdrop of rural New Jersey, the film follows a couple who share a peaceful life foraging for wild mushrooms. Their idyllic existence is challenged when Regina pursues a career as a chef in a Manhattan restaurant, exchanging her traditional basket for a chef's hat. Lucien, her partner, clings to their nomadic lifestyle, determined to protect their free-spirited way of life. Over the course of a year, their differing ambitions create tension, ultimately testing the strength of their relationship and threatening to unravel their bond.
