In 1995 Vienna, five young people—Jasmin, Tamara, Valentin, Senad and Roman—live on the city’s northern edge. All are migrants: from the former Yugoslavia, Romania, Poland and native Austria. As strangers in an unfamiliar land they grapple with loss, memory of war and alienation, seeking comfort in fleeting friendships, café conversations and brief romantic encounters while dreaming of a steadier future. Their lives constantly intersect, drift apart, and briefly unite in the search for warmth and belonging.
