Just before starting at Seishuu High, track star Katsuya Niimi and judo champion Susumu Karasawa see a girl in tears after the school’s baseball loss. Determined to cheer her, they join the team, discovering she’s Yuri Nakao, the coach’s daughter, and that the program faces closure unless it wins. Alongside pitcher Eiji Kurahashi, the trio learns baseball’s challenges and strives to lead the team to Koshien.
