The film dramatizes the all‑female Soviet air regiment that operated behind German lines during the Battle of Moscow, conducting daring night raids in flimsy wooden biplanes. Their silent, low‑altitude attacks terrified the Wehrmacht, who nicknamed them the “Night Witches” for the uncanny stealth of their light aircraft.
