In Kerala, Kasi sets off on a road trip, with his best friend Suni tagging along even though Kasi admits they don’t know the destination. They head toward Odisha via Bangalore and Vizag, where they are attacked by bandits. A group of riders intervene, and Kasi and Suni join them on a winding journey toward Puri to attend a surfing festival.

In Puri, Kasi meets Ishita, a surfer who quickly grows attracted to him. He confesses that his heart once belonged to Assi, a girl from Nagaland whose parents were killed amid political unrest. To win her family's approval, Kasi brings Ishita home to meet his parents. His mother struggles with the idea due to cultural and religious differences, while his father is more supportive but anxious about social status. Kasi resolves to travel to Nagaland to win Assi back.

From Puri, they head to Kolkata. On the way, they are mistaken for bandits in a village. When they explain they are from Kerala, the village chief—a former Communist—welcomes them and the trio helps build a machine that grinds wheat. Suni falls in love with the chief’s daughter Gowri Gowri.

Beyond Kolkata, a mysterious truck tries to injure Suni. Their bikes have punctures and are repaired at a shop run by a Malayalee, who reveals he fled the state years ago for a political murder. He says he has forgotten his party’s ideals and longs to return. Kasi recalls a college friend who was murdered by goons.

When they reach Assam, they are swept into a communal riot where they rescue a little girl. The journey changes Kasi; he calls his parents to say he might come home, but after meeting various people and seeing new places, he chooses to keep traveling. As the road nears its end, Suni decides to turn back to be with Gowri, and the two friends part ways.

Kasi finally reaches Nagaland and searches for Assi. The arrival of a stranger draws militant attention and they plan to attack Assi that night. Kasi meets her and they reunite, and when militants come, the missing pair vanish. The film closes with Kasi and Assi riding away at dawn toward Tawang.
