Vakratund “Vacky” and Bhakti are a couple who married against Bhakti’s parents’ wishes, and their story unfolds with warmth, humor, and a hint of wild misadventure. Vacky is a talented artist, yet he hasn’t found commercial success, and even after ten years of marriage, the couple remains childless. Bhakti learns from Nirmiti Sawant, who plays Vacky’s aunt, about a vow made by Vacky’s father: if his child is born healthy, he would bring the child to Ganpatipule in the most dramatic way—naked. The vow, however, was never fulfilled because Vacky’s parents passed away before it could be carried out.

Bhakti tries to persuade Vacky to honor the vow, but he resists the plan. In a bid to fulfill it without directly facing the awkward act, the couple hires a small-time actor to pose as a sage who supposedly guides them. The plan takes a chaotic turn when they decide to smuggle a mannequin dressed as Vacky onto a public transport bus, taking it to Ganapati Pule as the symbolic fulfillment of the vow. The scheme seems clever at first, a quirky ruse meant to honor tradition while keeping their dignity intact.

Yet trouble erupts when an international smuggler, Pradeep Patwardhan as Babu Kaalia, who has just escaped from prison and is carrying diamonds worth 80 crore, secretly boards the same bus. He hides the diamonds inside the hollow of the mannequin, turning the journey into a tense countdown. The ride from Mumbai to Ganpati Pule becomes a swirl of humor and danger as various passengers—each with their own pressures and quirks—navigate the strange composite of fate and greed. The bus conductor Lalu, played by Ashok Saraf, and other travelers become unwitting participants in a tale where a portrait gradually takes shape: Vacky, with the help of a fellow passenger, sketches a portrait of Babu Kaalia, a clue that heightens the impending confrontation.

As the bus nears Ganpati Pule, police close in, armed with evidence that Babu Kaalia is traveling to flee to Dubai from the Ganpati Pule port. The tension peaks when Babu Kaalia shatters the illusion, threatening to seize the diamonds and harm the passengers if his demands aren’t met. Bhakti urges Vacky to fulfill the vow by taking the mannequin to the temple, a moment that reframes the entire caper. It’s revealed that the sage was a fake, a deliberate ruse to avoid the naked trek, yet Vacky carries the mannequin toward the temple, tearing off clothes along the way as other passengers chase after him.

Upon reaching Ganpati Pule, Vacky arrives at the temple in the nude, completing the vow in a surprising, heartfelt finale. The couple—and their fellow travelers—are rewarded with 8 crore for bringing the gangster to justice, and the film closes on a note of humor, relief, and happiness as they begin a new chapter together.

The story blends light comedy with high-stakes twists, exploring themes of tradition, family pressure, and the odd, unpredictable ways fate pushes people toward truth and reward. The ensemble cast, anchored by the performances of Sachin Pilgaonkar as Vacky and Supriya Pilgaonkar as Bhakti, brings warmth and color to a plot that juggles farce with a touch of adventure, leaving audiences amused and satisfied.
